The major Hollywood film studios are: 

• Time Warner owns Warner Bro's entertainment own Warner Bro's pictures founded on April the 4th in 1923 by Albert Warner, Harry Warner, Sam Warner and Jack L. Warner. Some of the studios most successful films are Batman The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 2 and American Sniper. American Sniper brought in the highest total gross in 2014, it brought in $350,126,372. The Dark Night Rises and the Exorcist were the films with the highest box office of all time.

• The Walt Disney Studios own Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney companies is the cooperation. It was founded in 1923 by Walt Disney. The studio's 3 highest gross intake films are Frozen, Toy Story 3 and The Lion King. Frozen brought in a worldwide gross of $1,279,852,693, it was release in 2013. Disney also distribute Buena Vista. Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs and 101 Dalmatians were the most successful films.

• Comcast owns NBC Universal own Universal Pictures. It was founded April 30th in 1912. The founders were Carl Laemmle, Pat Powers and more. The 3 highest grossing films are Jurassic World, ET and Jurassic Park. Jurassic world was released in 2015 and has already brought in a gross of $647,374,160.  

• Sony owns which Columbia Pictures is an American film production and distribution studio of the Sony Pictures Motion It was founded on January 10th 1924 by Harry Cohn, Jack Cohn and Joe Brandt. Spider man 1, Sky fall and and Men in Black are some of the highest gross product earners. The first Spiderman was released in 2002 and its gross of was $403,706,375. Ghost Busters was also one of the most successful films.

• 21st century fox is the cooperation fot Fox filmed entertainment who owns 20th century Fox which was found on May 31st 1935 by Joseph M. Schenck and Darryl F. Zanuck. The highest grossing films are Avatar, the Star Wars films and Independence Day. Avatar was released in 2009 and it earn a total gross of $749,766,139. The sound of music was one of its most successful films.

• Paramount picture was founded in 1912 by W.W Hodkinson, Aldoph Zukor and Jesse L. Lasky. Its highest grossing films are Titanic, Transformers and Forest Gump. Titanic was release in 1997 and the  released again in 2012 and its total gross was $600,788,188. The ten commandments are one of its most successful films of all time.

In 2014 20th Century Fox had the highest market share, then Disney, then Warner Bros, the Columbia, the Universal and finally Paramount.

The mini major film industries are:

• Lionsgate founded in 1997 owned by Lionsgate Entertainment coorperation. Some of their major films are Twilight and The Hunger Games.
• The Wienstein Company was founded in 2005. Some of its biggest films were Scary movie.
• Open road films is cooperated by AMC Theatres it was founded in 2011 and one of its biggest films is Jango Unchained.
• CBS Films is owned by CBS cooperation and it was founded in 2007. Some of its biggest films were The Woman in Black and the Back up Plan.
•  Dream Works Studios were cooperated by Reliance Entertainment and it was founded in 1994. Some of its biggest successes were War Horse and Anchor man.
• Dream Works animations was founded in 1994 also and some of its biggest films are Shrek and Sharks Tale.
• Gaumount Film Company was founded in 1895. One of its biggest films is Intouchables which also has  the highest gross intake ever.
• Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was founded in 1924 and some of its biggest films are Legally Blonde and 21 Jump street.
